Swing Samplers

This sampler is designed to collect liquids from a horizontal flowing stream such as a sewer. The end of the sampler swings, allowing collection from different angles, including 90°. The unit comes with a 1000 mL polyethylene bottle and cover with a vinyl liner for leak-proof protection. The bottle is held in place with a plastic snapper ring that has an adjustable locking device. Available :

Sludge Sampler

This Sludge and Tank Sampler works like the Sludge Judge®.  This sampler is ideal for monitoring tanks at sewage treatment plants and sampling settled solids in liquids.  A float valve opens as the sampler is lowered.  When filled to the surface, the sampler is pulled up, causing the valve to close.  Constructed of 3/4” diameter plastic pipe with screw-type fittings, it comes in three 5-foot sections for a total of 15 feet.  It holds about 3 ounces per foot.

Sludge Nabber 500mL

Collect all the sludge you need to sample at a safe, convenient distance. You will have no problem transporting or reaching your source since the unit adjusts in length. Ideally suited for numerous liquid sampling requirements including chlorine in solution, BOD or suspended solids, this device extends from 4 to 6.5. Sample bottles are held in position by a plastic snapper ring that has an adjustable locking device. We include a 500 mL polyethylene wide-mouth bottle, although bottles from 500 -1000 mL can be used, with the right attachment (see right). See SWING SAMPLER for a listing of replacement bottles.

Sludge Judge Ultra

For maximum strength and rigidity, choose the Sludge Judge Ultra. Contructed of extremely strong polycarbonate and treated with a UV stabilizer, this unit minimizes bending of the unit when it is full of liquid. Tube diameter is 3/4" (1.9cm) and is made up of three 5 foot sections (top, extension, bottom). Accessories (shown below) include case and cleaning brush.

Sludge Judge

You be the judge - this sampler is ideal for monitoring sewage treatment plants, chemical plants, food processing facilities and the like. It allows you to take accurate readings of settled solids in a variety of liquids to any depth. Modular in design, it comes in three 5’ sections for a total of 15’. It is constructed of 3/4” (1.9cm) diameter plastic pipe with screw-type fittings. Holds approximate 3 oz. per foot. The top 5’ section includes a nylon line for lowering the sampler. (Add 2.5’ with our top accessory, available separately.)
Accessories include:
  • 2.5’ top section with attached nylon line for more length
  • Cotton canvas carrying case that holds four sections.
  • Spiral cleaning brush, 6’ long, designed for a snug fit. Simply slide in and out using a mild detergent and water

Coliwasa Liquid Waste Sampler 15oz (Alat Uji Limbah Cair)

Often termed a “drum” sampler, this can be used for sampling liquids (water, solvents, dispersed systems) inside drums through the bung hole. The Coliwasa can sample most containerized liquid wastes except those containing ketones, nitrobenzene, dimethlyformamide, mesityl- oxide and tetrahydrofuran. You can obtain your samples quickly with its simple, easy-to-use design, thus minimizing your exposure to hazardous wastes. Manufactured of high density polyethylene and designed to EPA standards, it consists of a 5’ x 3/4” ID tube and closing valve. Capacity is approx. 3 oz. per foot. Ship wt: 1.5 lbs.

Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Sampler


Announcing an extensively field-tested apparatus that’s a must for accurate VOC testing, uniting rugged, stainless-steel construction and proven trouble-free design. Its purpose is to collect samples of man-made compounds (such as gasoline, by-products of chlorination, or solvents) from streams for further analysis. Developed with the assistance of Larry R. Shelton, USGS, it includes a detailed Field Guide describing collection procedures, preparation, documentation and sample processing procedures among other topics.

The unit is deliberately heavy to provide stability in fast-flowing streams. You can add an additional ten- pound weight to keep the sampler upright under high flow. The cover over the inlet ports prevents surface borne contamination from entering the sampler. Cups on the bottom hold four 40 mL vials, which interlock with four removable copper tubes attached to the lid. These vials are flushed 7 times prior to the final filling. Because you must allow 3-4 minutes to fill the sampler completely, you are assured the accurate and representative sample your study requires. Sold as a kit.
